New Jersey Temporary Disability Insurance

New Jersey Temporary Disability Insurance

If you are suffering from an illness, injury, are pregnant or recently gave birth, and are unable to work as a result, you may be entitled to Temporary Disability benefits from the State of New Jersey. This type of benefit is only available to people who work in the State of New Jersey for a New Jersey covered employer, even if you live in another state.

Every application for Temporary Disability benefits contains three parts: an employee certification, a medical certification for your health care provider, and an employer statement that should be completed by every employer you worked for in the last 6 months. In order to give you the best chance of getting your application approved, our attorneys will help gather all of the necessary information and documentation required by law. If approved, you will be paid for up to two-thirds (2/3) of your average weekly wage (up to a maximum of $633 per week) for a maximum of 26 weeks.

If you are under the continued care of a physician and you need some time off from work to recover from your condition, you should file your application for Temporary Disability benefits as soon as possible.  Don’t delay. You only have a short period of time to file for Temporary Disability benefits. If you miss this deadline, you could be denied the money you deserve.
