Workplace insurance has many benefits
Help protect yourself and your family with insurance benefits provided through your workplace.
Types of insurance and why you may need them
We’ll help you understand how much coverage you may need to ensure you’re choosing the best options for you and your family during your workplace’s enrollment period.* Insurance coverages purchased at work may cost less than insurance you might buy on your own.

*Benefit options offered to workers are selected by an employer or plan sponsor, who may not offer all plan options below. Talk to your employer or plan sponsor about insurance coverages that may be available to you through them.
Term Life Insurance
Term life insurance can help you manage the financial risks associated with premature death and pays a lump sum benefit to the policy’s beneficiaries if you die while covered.
It’s a good idea to review your life insurance needs after major life events like getting married or having children, as these often come with increased financial responsibilities.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Like life insurance, AD&D insurance pays a benefit to your beneficiaries if you die as result of an accident.
It also pays a benefit to you if you have an accidental injury that results in paralysis or the loss of a limb, hand, foot, sight in one eye, speech, or hearing, etc.
Short & Long Term Disability
Disability Income Insurance can help protect your income if you can’t work due to injury, illness, or maternity leave. Your employer may offer two types:
- Short-term disability (STD) insurance replaces part of your paycheck typically for three to six months.
- Long-term disability (LTD) insurance replaces part of your paycheck for longer periods, after STD coverage ends.
Supplemental Insurance: Accident, Critical Illness, & Hospital Indemnity
Supplemental insurance coverages complement your medical coverage. Find out how each can help provide a financial cushion to help you stay on track and focus on your recovery.
Accident Insurance
Accident insurance can help pay for the out-of-pocket* costs your health insurance plan may not cover, making it a supplemental insurance coverage.
It pays a lump sum amount to be used however you like. It can cover:
- Out-of-pocket* medical costs such as deductibles, co-pays, or non-covered services.
- Everyday living expenses, like babysitters and take-out food.
Critical Illness Insurance
Medical care for illnesses like cancer and heart disease can be expensive. Critical illness insurance supplements your medical insurance to help pay for covered illnesses.
It pays a lump sum, which you can use however you choose, including:
- Out-of-pocket* medical costs such as deductibles, co-pays, or non-covered services
- Everyday living expenses, like babysitters, take-out food, and help with household duties.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance
Unexpected Illnesses happen—and with them come out-of-pocket* costs. Hospital Indemnity insurance supplements your medical insurance coverage to help pay for covered hospitalizations.
It pays a lump sum, which you can use however you’d like, including:
- Out-of-pocket* medical costs such as deductibles, co-pays, or non-covered services.
- Everyday living expenses, like babysitters and help with household duties.
